Help again...LAN with windows 98 and linux?

I'm trying to network my windows 98 pc and my linux pc. Any idea on how to do this (maybe use samba?) I have already got internet connection sharing to windows 98 computer is the gateway and the linux is the client. How do I network the computers for filesharing? Or is this impossible?

For filing sharing with Windows, Samba is the answer. Here are a few links that might help:

1 The source of all things Samba:

2. the online version of O'Reilly's Using Samba.

3. The Samba NHF from This is written for those who want to use their Linux box as the server as opposed to a client, but it still has some useful info.
