As a newbie I used automatic partition configuration and just clicked next ! ! ! ! and my mandrake Linux 9.0 is working properly ! ! !

But i have a problem with internet connection.

1- Linux can not detect my modem.
I solved this prblem by visiting LINUXANT and getting a generic driver for my connexant modem. installing GCC and compiling and configuring modem driver.

2- PPP dialer or KPPP detect my modem. dials . I hear some noise like logging in and then disconnects without any messages ! ! !
No solution found yet.

DLink Tech Support had the right driver and an step by step installation guide ! ! !
I am now online with Galeon in Mandrake 9.0 and every thing is OK ! ! !

But The Question is :

How can I force my internet application to dial automatically ? ? ?
