Hi,

I am having troubles installing my Conexant HSF 56k Modem, and I was instructed by the guys at linuxant.com to use the kppp program.

Unfortunatley, it wasnt installed. So I went through their walk through, and installed kppp from my Mandrake cd.

Now that it is installed, typing 'kppp' from a root konsole dosn't do anything, and another bad thing that happened is that most of my programs / applications have been removed from my 'start' menu!

I even try to open up the Mandrake Control Centre, but it returns an error and will not open. Looks like this kppp thing stuffed everything up.

What is wrong, and how can I fix it!?

well, i don't know how to fix the problem you have with your modem, but i'm sure that if you type the following command at your console will fix the problem with your menus: update-menus -v
