installing driver... need help

alright, so, i tried this in the networking forum, but i recieved no replies... i think i scared 'em off with my long post. i'm gonna keep this short and sweet. i have an ethernet card. says it's supported by linux. has a cd w/ drivers. i follow the instructions ('cause that's what newbs do), and it doesn't work (driver doesn't install). i'm gonna just stop there for now, and if you're interested in helping, i can give more pertinent information.

thank you

I have one invaluable piece of advice for you: read Smart Questions (ESR), Bug Reports (linked to in SQ) and (you didn't do this, but still) Yes-Or-No-Questions.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules....hreadid=341463

Please also bear in mind that 13 hours (in terms of global
time and varied time-zones) isn't exactly a LONG time to
get a response. Another rule explicitly asks not to bump
a thread within 24 hours for that very reason.
