Inquiry:How to check for the Linux server hardware healthy functionality

Dear All
Can you please do me favor and let me know how can I check for Linux server hardware healthy functionality ? Please be informed that I have an Linux server with RedHat 7.2 installed in text mode and the server got hung when loading boot kernel with HDD drive LED remains lit contineously . I want to check its hardware healthy functionality . As I know , the following procedure is applicable on the Solaris servers :
"
ok>setenv diag-switch? true
ok>setenv auto-boot? false
ok>reset-all
ok>obdiag
"
Can you please do me favor and let me know what is the equivalent procedure for checking healthy functionality of the Linux server hardware ?
Thank you in advance
Regards
H.Motamedi

Ideally you would have the vendor agents installed and configured to alert you...

cheers
