i carn't get pidgin to work


i'm new to linux i can't log into my msn account on pidgin all it says is our protocol is not supported by our server and i don't know what to do please can somebody help me?

thanks i did that but it comes up saying our protocol is not supported by the server. What does this mean

I am at work , so pidgin sites are blocked . Will keep you posted once I reach home . In the mean time , go through the pidgin developer links provided at the below link ,

i click on the message where it says our protocol is not supported ny the server and i go on modify account i go on advanced and i was wondering what proxy type is best to use i have got it on use global proxy settings is this correct or is it best on any of the others which are: No proxy, HTTP, SOCKS 4, SOCKS 5, or use enviromental settings

Update to a newer version of pidgin. It would also help if everyone knew what distro you are running.

Perhaps you should upgrade to the latest version
