how do I configure my modem?

when i installed redhat 9.0 the installation tried to detect my ethernet card.
aparently it failed because everytime i boot the system and it loads all the devices and their controllers, the system says that it fails when it tries to load eht0.
but also i want to configure my dial up conection since i don't have broad band conecction. (snif, snif)
but how do I configure my modem?
it's a Motorola sm56 speakerphone fax modem.

Its a software modem which can be very difficult to configure with Linux. The drivers are available here so will have to follow the install documentation that is probably included.

Sorry no idea. I just did a quick google search to identify the modem and this was the first link that popped up. You will have to read the documentation with the drivers.
