Configure modem

Hi! I have instaled de linux mandrake 9.0 in my pc, and i have a problem . My big problem it's that linux don't detect my internal modem. How can a configure my modem to have acess to the internet with linux

if its a winmodem, check http://linmodems.org/ and look for a driver.

Also, try wvdialconf first:

wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

And check if it will detec the modem.

Hi,

First fo all which modem do u have ? login as root and type

lspci to find out which modem u have..

If it is a lucent, connexant, zoltrix, pctel(Dax) one it should work under linux.. i can help u.. if it is a motorola one, forget it ..it will only work on kernel version 2.4.2 .

First determine which modem u have and post a qn: .. feel free to ask for help
