Fedora Core 6 usb problem

I have just installed FC 6 x86_64 on a new Compaq box with AMD64 processor. Neither the USB mouse nor USB flash drive is recognized. It's a dual boot machine and both devices work under Windows XP.

Below are some listings that may be useful (?) in figuring it out. I had a flash-drive plugged in at that time.

Any tips would be great as I have no idea where to even start troubleshooting!

Some further googling led me to
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=open...1550508111&w=2
where a nearly identical problem was discussed. Following the tips there I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.19 and removed the "acpi=off" option from the boot arguments (I'd used this option because of problems while installing FC6). Problem solved!
