Question USB 2.0 ports detected as USB 1.1 on Fedora Core 3

Hi,

I am a newbie to the linux community. I recently installed Fedora Core 3 on a Toshiba A75 S209 Laptop. I configured almost all the hardware and everything is working fine. I have an external USB harddrive and a USB flash drive. When I connect them to the computer and try to copy some thing, the transfer rate is very slow. I believe that my USB ports are being detected as USB 1.1 instead of USB 2.0.

Is there a way to see the details about the USB devices connected to the computer and details of the drivers?

If this shows my USB as 1.1, can I change it to 2.0.

Someone please advise.

Thanks
Bharat

What kind of speeds of transfers you getting?
Also post your /etc/fstab file.

You can type ' /sbin/lsmod ' to see what modules are loaded. For 2.0 you are looking for ehci-hcd. For 1.0 - 1.1 there are two ohci-hcd or uhci-hcd. Anyways ehci-hcd should be attached to usb-storage module.

You may have the program ' usbview ' installed. Try it and it gives a readadle display of USB Hardware. If not install it.

Hope this helps.
