ssh-buffer error

Hi i have been using ssh a lot lately but i have since changed my ip on one of my computers. And now when i attempt to ssh from one computer to another i get this error message.

"master@laptop:~> ssh master2@compaq
buffer_get_ret: trying to get more bytes 4 than in buffer 0
buffer_get_int: buffer error
master@laptop:~>
But i can still ssh from compaq to my laptop,it is only when i try to ssh from my laptop in to compaq that i get te error.
Now i think it could be a problem with authentication as the only change i made was my ip address on compaq.I believe there is a file called "known_hosts" which could be causing this but i can not locate it.
Thanks Nige.

ok i changed my ip back to what it was and now i can ssh from my laptop to compaq, but only as root.If i try to ssh in to a user as in the example above i get the same error message.nd just for the record i found that file here. "~/.ssh/known_hosts"
Anyway i can ping from my laptop the username on compaq so i guess that rules out dns issue.Ill have another look in the ssd_config see if tere is something there.
THanks Nige.

It would seem i was so close yetso far away all i had to do was clear the file "~/.ssh/known_hosts" and everything was ok.
