mnt error--buffer I/O error, dev fd0

Using Kanotix 2005-03

Every time I try to access /mnt, dmesg gives me the following error:

Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block 7
end_request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0

Replace the block and sector numbers with whatever...

Problem is, ther e *is* no fd0 present on my system. I'm running a laptop (Thinkpad T23) with a changeable cd-rom/floppy bay. Currently, I have the cd-rom installed, but no disk present. I suspect this has to do with autofs, but I'm not sure what to do about it.
