Hi Can anybody tell me why, after setting up samba ( every thing works 100% ) with Windoze 2000 P, but after shutting down one windoze workstation, and re starting it Windoze can not find the network, but after clicking on the network icon in Windoze it works again, it is the same on all win2K workstations, that same goes for the printer share which is installed on the MD 9.1 Box and shared vis samba, same when starting win2k it can not find the printer, but after clicking on the network icon in win2k it all works.

It kind of sounds like your network is having election problems. Try setting your Samba configuration to be a Master Browser or Preferred master. You might be able to get information from the Samba Domain Controllers HOWTOs...

It would also be a good idea to tell the WIN2K workstations NOT to participate in elections.. This will cut down on network traffic and election issues.

winguides.com has the registry info and/or the tool to make the changes on your Windows stations.
