ok here's the situation... I have 2 computers. First one is a Windows xp pentium 3. the second is a Mandrake 10.1 Athlon xp 2600+ I have both computers connected into a Linksys wrt54gp2 router (wired until I can purchase the wireless pci adapter cards). The router connects into my Comcast cable router (a SURFboard 5100) I seem to have a network connection on both but can't share files? My research tells me I should be using samba but I am unable to find a stable rpm for Mandrake 10.1 Then too, if there is a decent rpm to load samba, how do I get the 2 connected to share files between them? Do I even need samba? I downloaded LISa but that didn't help none. I just want to be able to share files between both computers and still have internet connectivity on both. My son's computer (the windows xp) has much more storage on his (I installed a 120gb hdd) than my linux box (80gb single hdd) I would like to be able to download files into his 120gb hdd and view those files from my linux box (music, movies, etc.) This is my first network I'm trying to setup so I'm pretty green at it so if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
