Placing a SMB share inside an NFS share

Under what conditions could I expection some silly to happen if I were to place a SMB share inside an NFS share with both shares being on different networks?

Example:

NFS Share: 192.168.1.1:/mnt/nfsshare
SMB Share: //172.31.1.1/mnt/nfsshare/smbshare
