Intel HAM modem Ambient MD5628D-L-B

Can anyone help me with kernel 2.6.22.x with installing the Intel HAM modem (Ambient MD5628D-L-B chipset).
I already have the drivers from Intel but that wont help me get running. It wont make in the first place and gives a myriad of errors.

Any hints??

Thanks
