Unhappy FTP problems

Hi, I am using iptables on RH 7.1 Kernel 2.4.2-2

I have ip_conntrak.. and ip_nat_ftp and everything loaded, but I can not do FTP from clients connected to the internet through port forwarding on my linux machine.

And on my linux machine itself, I can only ftp using PASSIVE mode.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

These are the loaded modules:

Module Size Used by
ipt_REJECT 2528 1 (autoclean)
ipt_LOG 3888 12 (autoclean)
ipt_limit 1472 12 (autoclean)

tulip 38544 1 (autoclean)
