device info


how to see device info

ie i wanted to know my modem is on wich device

/dev/modem does not exists


lspci
shows modem on pci

i wnted to know witch device is it ie /dev/ttyS*

so i can create link of /dev/modem to it

THANKS in advance

There isn't a way to see which modem is where until after they have been scanned and the links made...

Depending on your disribution, there is kudzu, kppp, redhat-config-network etc to detect modems and set then up...
