Alsa output device info needed for mythtv.

ok basically I installed mythtv on slackware and got it all up and running, but I am having trouble with sound. I get an error no output device in myth. But my sound works in kde.... I found out that I need to change the sound output device setting in myth to my correct settings in slackware. Problem is I dont know how to find out what my ALSA Output device setting is... Anyone know how I figure that out????

there is alot of info in there, but I am still a beginner and a bit lost on what to do with that. It sorta looks like slackware 10.1 already has the alsa utils setup, as well as the alsa.conf, but I can not figure out what to put into mythtv for the audio output device, and the mixer:
any further help for a beginner would be great.
