Hello!

I thing the nameserver of your ISP is not entered [or not correct] in /etc/resolv.conf
Please connect with kppp and try pinging www.google.com[=216.239.59.104] for example:
Code:
ping -c 4 216.239.59.104
[ we send only 4 packages "-c 4" ]

If it works check your /etc/resolv.conf file:
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
There should be something like this:
Code:
nameserver 193.231.236.17
nameserver 193.231.236.10
[ This is my ISP's nameserver, it won't work for you ]

To check your ISP's nameservers:
Code:
host ns1.YOUR_ISP.com
ns1.YOUR_ISP.com has address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
host ns2.YOUR_ISP.com
ns2.YOUR_ISP.com has address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Hope this helped you!
Boby
