Unable to Browse Sites

Hi Experts,
Recently installed RHL 7.3 and everything is fine so far.
the problem is strange................I have a direct cable connection with static ip add. Both the interfaces(for cable and lan) work i can ping local loopback, i can ping self address., can ping gateway and even Name servers of my ISp. But As soon as i try to ping using names)eg tells me destination host unreachable.

While shutting down system...............the messages that appear say something abt eth0...........setting PROMICIOUS MODE....Something like that. But while booting i dont get any such message.............

Also while pinging it says something abt time and taking counter measures.............?

Can anyone help me what could be the problem?
In short i cannot browse sites...............?
