i want good inernet speed


i have used dhcpd for my windows 98 clients and all are browsing threw my dhcpd redhat 7.2 but as ii am not getting good speed so i like to increase speed ............ and how can i map how much speed the clients are running on


a person told me that if u will bind local dns on your server then ur clients will be work at good intenet speed

Moving bind can help, but there are many things that can affect your speed. Your local network may be OK, but problems may be outside. Look how are your pings - to other machines in th local network, to the gateway and to different internet hosts.

ya pinging and all stuff are working

Yeah pinging and all the stuff is working but the thing is that i am not getting speed the browser can not get good speed as much as before on proxie should i update my Ram to get good one

I'm sure pinging works I was asking about it, because when you know the pings, you can look into the numbers. I mean, you can see where it stops (where the times start to grow fast). It'll tell you where there is a problem.
More ram will help only if it's really small. For a middle-size router 16MB is enough. But you may try to install squid. But for squid you need quite good machine, disk and RAM (not much, but more than for router).
