Once the Ubuntu install starts you can either install Ubuntu alongside of Windows if that's an option.

OR> you will have to choose 'something else' and delete the Mint partition.
Than from that free space from the old Mint partition make a new partition for your Ubuntu installation.
I just now saw the link. I will read it.

I again just tried holding the esc key after the Lenovo logo showed up and a GNU GRUB window opens.. whatever that is.. with lots of grub>'s. One for every time I kept holding esc?? I somehow remembered to type exit to get out of it. Is Grub the bios?

No, Grub isn't the BIOS.

Maybe try holding down the Fn + F2 key.

From reading the link I noticed that they are referring to the lenovo folders not the windows or mint. Does that mean something. Should I try to get to bios via the Lenovo software.?

I have tried that twice. No go. I just finished reading that link you provided. It says that I can change the way it boots up via windows. I went to that place earlier today but I did not click the correct option. I'm going to try that now. UEFI firmware settings is the place I should go... so says the tutorial.

I'm not sure if you can can into the BIOS through the Lenove software or not:-

If you have to try keys F1 through F12.

I am in the Lenovo BIOS setup utility. I don't know what to do here. Oh wait. It says select this option to configure your system's USB port. I suppose I ought to click on that one??

Right it does, I went back to the page and read it.

It says choose UEFI Settings and than choose restart. That should take you into the BIOS.

Use the right and left arrow keys to move over to the section called "Boot".

There are tabs in BIOS setup. Startup has> Primary boot sequence CSM [Disabled]
boot mode UEFI Only
Boot up num lock sttus [on]

the help message says this sequence is used when the system is powered up normally. Use up and down arrows to select a device.

I don't know what to do next.
