Can connect to cellphone through WIFI HOTSPOT, but cannot connect to my own WIFI network

Hello all!

I am running Linux Mint 17.

I did a:
Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
And now, I connect to the internet through my mobile phone doing a WIFI-HOTSPOT, but cannot connect to my WIRELESS NETWORK, even though I can see it. I was able to connect to my WIRELESS before the updating...

Any hints on how to fix my problem?

I have already turned OFF and then ON my PC and my MODEM.

Thank you very much and kind regards,

Diego

First thing I would try is removing the home wireless network settings from network manager and set it back up to see if it's something as simple as updated configuration of NM makes the prior config of the wireless invalid.

In the "Connection editor" I did erase my previous wireless connection, but it did not work.

Any other hint?

Might look a little different, but open the network manager connections editor interface, highlight whatever your home network is named and click on delete. If it has more than 1 with the ID of your home network, delete all of them.

I did what you recommend, but it did not work. By the way, I am able to connect to my MODEM through a WIRED connection as well.

Does NM give you an error when you attempt to connect, or does it just set and think forever and not connect?

It just says "Connecting..." and thinks forever but does not connect. Also, it keeps asking me the WIFI password. BTW, the cellphone can connect to my WIFI normally.
