Check DVD media

What command do I use to check blank DVD media for errors before burning?

For example I run k3b to copy DVD. It copies. It them begins the burn process but fails half way through because the blank media is bad. I then have to recopy the original, and then begin the burn process on a hopefully good DVD media.

I've always had trouble with K3b.
As an alternative I use XFburn and it blanks the cd as it's burning the new image.

I'm not sure if there is a cmd or a tool for checking a blanked cd and if the blank was done successfully. I looked online for one and didn't find one. -::-Others may know.-::-

If you'd like to use the cmd-line to blank a cd you can with:
Code:
unmount /dev/cdrom
cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrom blank=fast

I am using DVD+R, not DVD+RW. I just want to determine if the media is OK before I burn it.

Hi...

Do any of the suggestions here help, particularly this utility?

Have you tried duplicating this issue using different burning software? I've had success with Brasero in the past. Also, this may be an issue with the drive itself.

Regards...
