Why my keyboard isn't working under KDE? Toshiba Satellite M100 & SuSE 10.1

Hello,

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite M100 (Dual Processor).

I'm sure it's really a stupid bug about my keyboard...but I can't figure it out! I was working under KDE 3.5.1 that is default in SuSE 10.1 and I was changing some setting in amaroK (always the default version) and my keyboard just stop working! I couldn't type anything!! BUT, the funny thing is when I press ALT+F2 or ALT+F4 I switch to console mode, so it's not totally not functionning and in the console it's working perfectly fine!

My keyboard is set as a French Canadian. That might be the only problem I can see with accents and stuff...don't know...

That bug happened before too. I just upgraded to 10.1 like before yesterday. I was under KDE of SUSE 10.0 and it happened while I don't remember what... So I looked on the net to find something ...but nobody ever had that bug before ...maybe I'm just to noob to figure out what is the problem... After trying to change the keyboard settings to another keyboard, my mouse (touchpad) wasn't working after that!

So it's really hard, but I went the hard way by re-installing my whole SuSE 10.0 ...and got back my keyboard! But I don't want to do that everytime ...and my mouse didn't even worked in the installation but the first time I installed it, it was working properly (SuSE10.0)!

Somebody can help with those strange bugs...???
Thanks!! Hope to hear from someone soon
Philippe
