Screen frozen while installing RH9 on Compaq Presario 2164AF

i tried install redhat 9 on my compaq presario 2164AF Notebook, but the screen frozen when asking to test cd/media.

i have tried to install it on my desktop machine, and the installation run smooth.

i have tried to install by typing: linux noprobe. but it still went into test cd/media screen, and it freeze.

Pls tell me how to get rid of this problem. thank you.

I saw the same problem recently on another post:

You might try using the text install. You can also skip the media test if you know it works on your desktop. I had trouble installing RH 9 on an Inspiron laptop using the GUI install, but it worked fine using the text install. The text install follows the same steps as the GUI install.
