Problems installing LINSPIRE on COMPAQ V2000

My husband has been trying to install Linspire on his COMPAQ V2000 laptop he is in the Navy and doesnt have good access to the internet and cant download stuff to fix it he can only check email and thats how I let him know.

He says that when he tries to install it comes up with
( FATAL: Can't search cd )

and than it also says

resume2= command line

He knows that the CD works fine because he just bought the Linux and he installed it on his friends laptop and it works.

If anone can please help me help him install it I would really be happy.

Thank you

Karolina
