help with installing drivers on vostro1510


I'm very new to linux & have installed ubuntu 7.10 on my vostro 1510(n series).but i don't know how can i install my laptop drivers.i think(just think)my dvd-rw can not be mounted!i can't use it.please help me

You JUST installed Ubuntu 7.10? The latest is 9.10, which is probably where alot of your problems are coming from. Install the latest version, and most of your hardware problems will either go away, or be easier to deal with.

And what problems are you having? You say you 'think' your DVD drive can't be mounted...why? Symptoms? What are you doing? Provide some details..
