UNinstalling proprietry mandriva nVidia drivers and installing new nVidia drivers
I have just installed mandriva 2007, great OS, i've been trying to get the 3D desktop effects to work, i have installed the requiered packages and it say's my system can't support them. I'm running a GeForce FX 5200 with 512mb of VRAM on an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo.
like i said i would like to uninstall the current nVidia drivers and i would like to install the specific nVidia drivers
any suggestions would be welcome

Have you tried simply downloading the driver program from NVIDIA and running it?

yes i have downloaded the nVidia dirvers and done the sh command onn them to install them, i have also initiated run level three with init 3

i would like to know how to remove the mandriva installed drivers and re-install the nvidia ones, any help would be greatly appreciated
