I installed and used ubuntu 10 and upgrade to 11.4 on notebook winbook J4 for a year. I have no internal hard drive so I had it on 16g flash drive. I try upgrade to 12 for about 6 hours via internet prgress didn't make any progress for hours. I had no option just reboot but screen was black. I took usb out just go to grub. I tried to reformat flash drive with other computers linux and win7 never finishes format after partition. I tried my external drive to install on that with my CD Ubuntu 11.4. On boot I get black screen and everything sounds right. I take it out boot goes to bios and in seconds hung.

There is a bug report filed on Upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 stating not to upgrade until after July.

Not sure typo 10.04 you meant 11.04. If not I tried upgrade 11.04 to 12. How can I fix bios messed up flush it and what this upgrade done to my flash drive that repartition fine but format never finishes. Anybody installed 12 version to clean external drive or harmful?
