hello;
i have an (aspire 1350 laptop) with a (via s3g km400/kn400) card
and i just installed mandriva 2007 distro wich is great by the way
but when i try to setup the graphical server to run the 3d desktop effects i didn't find my card on the list??
it just give me openchrome card as default when i use openchrome card
the 3d effects didn't work what should i do?
because i really love those 3d effects!!
3D desktop effects is still in a developmental stage. So far, video card functionality is limited more or less to the popular nvidias, Intel's, and some ATI's. My advice would be to wait for your card to be supported. Or you could volunteer to test experimental code on your system
If you still want to try for a 3D desktop, then try running it with AIGLX instead of XGL. At best they don't express that via cards will not work.

thanks for the advice but oh i just cant wait to try the 3d effects even if i have to volunteer to test experimental code on my system
and the AIGLX not inabled in mcc??
thers must be some way to run these 3d effects
still waitting 4 comments ?
hi sam many thanks but here is the issue:
i Follow'd the instructions 4 beryl
when i install the package after download
i get the "some pakages could not be installed do you want to Continue any way?" message
when i Continue and try to run beryl it dont exist??
what did i mess here
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the way mandriva installs programs. Your best bet is to download the latest development svn of beryl and its associate programs, compile, and install those.
Make sure neither compiz nor XGL are running anymore.
