Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

VOIP Phones?

Is anyone producing or selling any VOIP Phones that are fully compatable with linux? What about support in the Linux kernel? has any work been done in that field yet? I mean I know there is support for large vendors, but what about ordinary users?

It's a bit of a pain in the butt to have to have a PC to use VOIP anyway. I don't see why they don't just make phones that connect via a router and don't need a PC at all.
