Problems with my monitors on a Radeon 9500 Pro

I have two monitors on this machine, a Samsung SyncMaster 753DF and a Compaq Presario v410. The monitor that is plugged into the Radeon's DVI port works great, but the monitor plugged into the Radeon's CRT port runs oddly - the image is displayed, but it is larger than the monitor's screen and you can only see the edges by moving the cursor to the outside area. The monitors display the same image.

So I have two questions:

How do I fix the image being larger than the monitor, and if possible, how I do set the monitors to display one big picture (for example, a 1024 x 1536 screen as opposed to two mirrored 1024 x 768 screens)?

I'm running GNOME, xFree 4.3, and the fglrx driver for my Radeon, all in Mandrake 9.2. Since I'm a Linux newbie, I probably didn't include enough information, so please prompt me as necessary.
