mouse jumping to top right corner of the screen while cpu processes

The company I work for runs ubuntu 12.04 as a thin client in a pharmacy. The desktop on top is proprietary but I believe runs on top of xfce or at least uses the xfce panel. Anyway, the problem is the mouse curser jumps to the same position about 1" from the top and the right side of the monitor anytime the curser changes to the cpu processing icon. Can you think of anything we could check on a user level that could be checked? I don't have root access here or something that could be forwarded to the IT admin? He doesn't seem to care it does it and isn't working on a fix

Hi:

W/O elevated privileges I don't see how you could fix it. Or at least attempt to.

Here's a few fixes:

Maybe look through the dmesg log to see if there are any hardware issues or warnings.
It could just be a bug.

The man page for lshw might be of some use to look at what type of hardware is on that machine.

Yeah I know it's a log shot. It's unbearable. We can't get anything done at work that requires use of the mouse. Thanks for the reply tho

You're Welcome:-

Maybe try to encourage the root user to fix it and explain that you can't get anything done.
Hope he understands.

Good Luck-
