kernel: hdc: IRQ Probe failed (0xfef8)
Ok, I have my hard drive and cd on primary IDE controller, hda, hdb are fine.
I used to have a CDR on hdc, but removed it. So I have nothing connected to Secondary IDE controller.
Been into BIOS and reset IDE settings, so ide2's master and slave are set to none.
Every time I boot my machince it gets hung up for a while looking for hdc and hdd, below is what I see..
ide1: BM-DMA at 0xb408-0xb40f, BIOS settings: hdc: pio, hdd: pio
Sep 14 07:55:01 mychl717 kernel: hdc: IRQ probe failed (0xfef8)
Sep 14 07:55:01 mychl717 kernel: hdc: IRQ probe failed (0xfef8)
Sep 14 07:55:01 mychl717 kernel: hdc: no response (status = 0x0a), resetting drive
Sep 14 07:55:01 mychl717 kernel: hdc: IRQ probe failed (0xfef8)
Sep 14 07:55:01 mychl717 kernel: hdc: no response (status = 0x0a)
and it repeats for hdd...
I've looked through /proc/ide and it doesn't have anything for hdc or hdd.
Where can I disable the irq probe on hdc and hdd, or, do I need to have a drive on secondary IDE controller.
I could always put my CD drive as master on secondary controller....
Any ideas???
Thanks
