HP mx50 monitor problem.

i have an HP pavillion 800MHz 256M RAM and the factory mx50 monitor,

i got home from work today and moved the mouse to get out of my screensaver and noticed there is no red on my monitor at all. i run redhat 8.0 and used the machine this morning with no problem, i checked the monitor settings themselves, which seem fine, and checked the color settings in KDE, also normal. i then rebooted and have the same problem.

is my monitor just screwed or is there a common solution to this? anybody ever run into this problem?

thanks.

That seems like a possibility, also a video card doink up, or a connection issue on the actual hd-15 connector, that's just completely weird. Unfortunately the best way to test goop like this is to try to narrow it down to part. If you have another video card handy, its easy enough to try that with the same monitor. When my roommate's crappy compaq monitor was about to go it started jumping into the most bizarre hues.

Cheers,
