monitor problem

have just finished putting SUSE 9.1 on a Gateway 2000 system and it runs pretty well.
Unfortunately I get the following message each time I log in:

Question - SUSE Hardware Tool
Your monitor didn't report its X- and Y-Size, this might cause display problems like unreadable fonts.
Do you want to configure your monitor geometry manually? YES/NO

I have configured the settings manually, but the message appearseverytime. I have changed monitors from a EV700 to a Vestron15 and still get the same error. Does anyone else see this with SUSE or has anyone corrected it?

i got the same problems in SuSE on a compaq armada laptop. to fix it i entered the x- and y-sizes manually. you can guess what they are, it really doesn't matter - just hit the "test" button to make sure it looks ok, and then save and reboot; it should go away after that.
