HELP!! usbserial / Cell Phone Modem
I have a Radio Shack USB Cable for my Samsung a530 Cell Phone, which can be used as a modem for Verizon's Express Network service. It works wonderfully in Windows XP.
I'm using Slackware 9.1 with Kernel 2.6.0 (final) and KDE.
When I boot, my phone is properly recognized as Samsung CDMA Technologies. The kernel says something about it being at ttyACM0. However, that device doesn't exist in /dev/usb/ttyACM0, where KDE's PPP tools is looking for it. How do I get this there??
Any other ideas??
I tried ./MAKEDEV ttyACM0 and it said it didn't know how to make ttyACM0. I tried ./MAKEDEV ttyACM and still no luck... In the PPP tool, the only option for ttyACM0 is /dev/usb/ttyACM0. I tried ./MAKEDEV in /dev/usb and there's not even the MAKEDEV script in there...
