cell phone as an external modem

Is it possible to use a cell phone (particuarly a motorola v120) with a serial or usb data cable as an external modem?

the phone itself has to have modem built into it, i had a nokia 8310 that has one inside or use GRPS service (much faster) and infrared or bluetooth connection with PC, and some software from motorola
