Unhappy cell-phone to modem

I'm trying to figure out how to connect my cell phone (Sanyo SCP-4900) to my modem. Well, even using the usb cable I bought to dial my own ISP, not the Sprint G3 network, would be fine. It's seems to me that either using the usb cable for the phone our some cable that connects to the phone jack in the modem I should be able to dial my own ISP as if it were a regular call and not a so called "data" connection the carriers seem to fear so. Any ideas?

!Long Live The Revolution!
(although I'm still not sure which one)
