Error occuring while installing the red hat linux


Hi all,

I was trying to install red hat linux with a bootable disk and it got booted and installation started but when i reached to partition menu and tried to make the partition an error " An error has occured-no valid device were found to which to create new file system. Please check your hardware for the cause of the this problem." is coming Plz help and show me way out of this problem.

it sounds like the installation kernel does not have support for the controller that the disks you are using are attached. the manufacturer of the controller may have drivers that you can use during installation so that the installer is able to "see" them and proceed with installation.

What system is this (manufacturer, model, home-brewed, ...)?
What controller are the disks attached through?

Not enough information provided. What version are you trying to install and the make/model number of the computer or at least something about the hardware. Does this computer have SATA drives?
