Error while installing Red Hat 7.3

Hello,

Can anyone help with this problem? I am installing Red Hat Linux
7.3 on a dual AMD Opteron system. I know 7.3 is old, but I have no choice in the matter. Below I have posted an error I
receive intermittently during the installation, and I have performed the install several times. Generally, at the end of CD1 I get the following while installing the openjade package, which is also the last thing installed on CD1. I have several machines with identical hardware, and sometimes I get this error and sometimes I don't.
I would appreciate any insight, since I would like find a way to
stop this error or at least determine its cause? Thank you.

Sounds like an old install image as well, and maybe different CD drives?

Why do you have no choice in this?

Do I understand that you have successfully installed to some machines and not to others? If so, you may be able to work around the problem by doing a net install from one of the other machines.

It also looks like you could do a minimum install successfully - go for the minimum graphical workstation. Then try installing the last bit you need off the disk, using the packet manager.

You could also try swapping a cd drive over between two computers.

Best of All: pursuade the powers that be that this soprt of thing is just going to get worse and worse as RH7 becomes more and more out of date. Nobody can expect this to work.

Hello JWT2,

Sorry to ask a question to you. I am looking at download RH 7.3. Could you let me know if you are aware of any sites from where I can download? I need this for a testing.

TIA,
Sathya
