cdrom error with kernel 2.6.18.3

Hello,

With a 2.6.18.3 I have the following errors when I try to md5sum
/dev/hdc (cdrom device):

hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: command error: error=0x51 { IllegalLengthIndication LastFailedSense=0x05 }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown

It seems to happen at the "end" of the disk.
The CD-R was writen by the same machine (with a 2.4 kernel).
The "md5sum /dev/hdc" works fine with a 2.4 kernel on the same machine.

Regards,
C

Hiyer

Not sure if it's a similar problem to the one I had. I had loads of help and eventually solved my problem, this thread might help.
