hi, I am sorry you havnt recieved a great response, but you have had a lot of people look at the post. I hope you are still checking on this thread. I just bought a tecra 780 DVD and would like to be able to communicate with you about your experience. I experienced the same problem as you when I tried to install slackware 10.2 Ubuntu, Debian, Mandriva, Suse and knoppix all seemed to install ok however the drivers for the video are a problem. everything is fine with video during the install until it is using the x server. that is I dont get the desktop manager up, neither gdm or kdm. no graphics on screen after boot although system works ok from commandline if I dont run the gui. so I am trying what I think is my seventeeth install attempt. I am trying to find an option to override the video driver for something generic like vesa. How has your experience been lately? Do you still have this machine?
