ATI Radeon Driver Install Failed

I downloaded the 'fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm' driver from ATI for my Radeon 8500 and got this error when trying to install it...
Code:
Installation failed:
file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from install of fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5
conflicts with file from package libxfree86-4.3-19mdk
I'm using Mandrake 9.2rc1 and have the kernel-sources installed. Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks, olias

You should go back to ATI site and download appropriate drivers for XFree 4.3.0 instead of these meant for XFree 4.1.0 !!!

Thanks for the quick response... I made a silly mistake, so I downloaded the 'fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.5' file instead and got the same error.
Code:
Installation failed:
file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from install of fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.5
conflicts with file from package libxfree86-4.3-19mdk
Any other ideas?

Thanks again, olias

Thumbs up

Oops, I read the notes.txt file there on ATI's site and got the drivers working. I'm just beginning to solve things on my own but comming from M$ windows, it's like learning to walk again. Thanks Bill for turning my brain to jelly. BTW, works great now with UT2003.
