XFree86 and ATI Radeon Driver install

I'm attempting to install the 3.2.8 drivers for my Radeon 9600 Pro onto my Mandrake 9.2 machine.

I have downloaded and installed the kernel source. Also, when I run X -version it says that I have version 4.3.0 of XFree86 installed.

Now the problem I have is that when I try to run the RPM from the console using rpm -Uli --force "ati_driver".rpm I get the following error:

Failed dependencies
XFree86 >= 4.3.0 is needed by fireglrx-4.3.0_3.2.8-6

Could anyone tell me why I am getting this error even though I have XFree86 version 4.3.0?

try it with -nodeps?

this is what I would try... in console NOT IN X

rpm -ivh --force --nodeps fglrxpackage.

AND if would be helpful if you have current linux kernel source headers if the ati driver do not have a linker precompiled for your kernel... *READ THE ATI DOCS*
