80gb hard disk

Me using 80gb hard disk. Its an acer pentium 2 computer. There is no bios update. No hdd size limiter on the bios. I want to install linux on this system either on part of the 80gb hdd or 4gb hdd , my question is will the bootloader (kubuntu 6.06 ) works properly as bios is not detecting 80gb correctly. it detects the hdd as 10gb. one more info , me using windows xp on hda , it booting perfectly and all partitions working normal on the system. Thank you.

Does your BIOS not have an option to enable LBA mode? I am sure if you enable LBA mode, all the 80 gigs on your hard drive will be seen.
