Angry Partition problem

I have just installed windows xp on a 40 GB HD. The partition I installed to was 15 GB. I also have a 6GB partition that I keep with files on it. The rest is unpartitioned. For whatever reason they are hda2 and hda5. When I go to add my linux partitions, it says I dont have enough space to create the partitions. When, in reality, I have over 10GB left. I create my swap and then I try to create the /boot and it gives me this error.

I think you might wanna create a /home directory first, then move up the ladder to your next directory, this might be what's causing your problem, but I am not sure on that.

Also, if you have truly *just* installed XP, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to try to stick the partitions together, it might help you when trying to remember what went where.

I got Partition Magic, maybe that will do the partitioning for me.

I think what MC means by "if you have truly *just* installed XP" is that you don't have any personal files there. Correct? Then go ahead installing Linux. Boot the CD. Pick custom. Use Disk Druid to resize XP.
