I am new to linux, i have just installed RH 6.2. I am currently adding user (mail only) but whenever i add a user the screen turns blue and the operation seems to freeze. When i check in on another session of linuxconf i see that the user is added. Then i will try to change user password and will still get same result (operations freezes). Therefore, i cannot add users continously.
linuxconf is notoriously unstable and dangerous, you should really avoid using it at all costs. just use the useradd command on a console and you should be fine. read teh manpage for informatino about it. rh62 is really knocking on a bit now, maybe you'd benefit from newer distribution?
Thanks for prompt reply. I actually have a RH 7.2 which i had no problem installing on my IDE harddisk PC but i can't install it on my server using adaptec SCSI board (AIC-7880P) so i settle for 6.2. If i upgrade current 6.2 to 7.2, will it use the current SCSI driver?
For now i wil try to understand using useradd command.
